A Workplace Designed Around Teamwork, Performance, and Community
As global excitement around soccer builds with the start of the World Cup, MOI is proud to spotlight a recently completed project that celebrates the spirit of the game at a local level: Richmond United.
Following the merger of two Richmond-based soccer organizations, Richmond United sought to create a unified headquarters that would support collaboration, culture, and day-to-day operations while remaining deeply connected to the sport itself.
Designed by SMBW and furnished by MOI, the new workplace overlooks the soccer fields and was intentionally planned to support an active, fast-paced environment where coaches, staff, and athletes move seamlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the day.
The design balances functionality and flexibility with hospitality-inspired shared spaces that encourage connection and teamwork. Height-adjustable workstations throughout the office support employee wellness and adaptability, while integrated storage solutions accommodate uniforms, equipment, and the operational needs unique to an athletic organization.
Material selections and finishes were also carefully considered to support durability and ease of maintenance in a high-traffic environment tied closely to field activity and outdoor conditions.
From collaborative meeting spaces overlooking the fields to casual lounge areas that foster connection, the new Richmond United headquarters reflects the energy, movement, and team-first mentality that define the organization.
The result is more than just an office — it is a space designed to support performance, culture, and community both on and off the field.
