Miles & Stockbridge
RENOVATION | WASHINGTON, DC
MOI partnered with Miles & Stockbridge and design firm Corgan to support enhancements to the firm’s Washington, DC office—delivering a streamlined, highly collaborative project experience that reflects the strength of long-standing relationships and thoughtful preparation.
Originally engaged through MOI’s Baltimore team, the project quickly evolved into a cross-market collaboration when Corgan’s DC team looped in MOI’s DC Studio. This seamless coordination between offices ensured the client benefited from both deep relationship history and local market expertise—bringing the right people to the table at the right time.
From the outset, alignment and trust defined the process. With a compressed schedule and minimal delivery window, the team came prepared. MOI led finish meetings with curated, pre-selected options tailored to the client’s space and standards—eliminating decision fatigue and accelerating approvals. Rather than slowing the process with endless choices, this level of preparation enabled the client to move quickly and confidently, reinforcing trust at every step.
Strategic reuse also played a role. The client elected to remove select ancillary items from the scope, instead integrating existing Herman Miller classics—including Eames chairs and tables—into the refreshed environment. This approach maintained design integrity while maximizing value and extending the life of iconic pieces.
Despite the fast pace, execution was smooth and efficient—an “easy breezy” project not by chance, but by design. Clear communication, proactive planning, and a shared understanding of expectations allowed the team to deliver without friction.
The outcome is a refined, functional workspace—and a strengthened partnership. In fact, the success of this project has already led to continued conversations, with another opportunity on the horizon in Washington, DC.
