As a long-time client, Gallagher LLP trusted MOI to help bring a bold new vision for its Baltimore headquarters to life. Working alongside Gensler, the goal wasn't simply to renovate an office. It was to redefine what the experience of a modern law firm could be.

For generations, Gallagher has built its reputation on trusted relationships, thoughtful counsel, and a commitment to serving both its clients and the broader Baltimore community. That same spirit became the foundation for the firm's new 21,000-square-foot workplace.

The design represents a complete departure from the traditional legal office. Dark finishes and enclosed spaces gave way to an environment filled with natural light, open collaboration areas, hospitality-inspired gathering spaces, and thoughtfully designed private offices and conference rooms. Wellness rooms provide employees with places to recharge, reflecting the firm's investment in supporting its people as much as its clients.

At the heart of the workplace is a vibrant café designed to encourage connection beyond meetings and casework. Rather than serving as simply another breakroom, the café functions as the social hub of the office—a place where conversations happen naturally and culture is strengthened every day.

Perhaps the most memorable feature of the project is the artwork woven throughout the space. Gallagher commissioned two Baltimore artists to create custom murals celebrating the city's history and the firm's longstanding commitment to civil rights and community engagement. One mural features the historic Reed Street sit-in, creating a meaningful visual reminder that the firm's values extend well beyond the walls of the office.

To support this new vision, MOI curated furniture solutions from Herman Miller workstations, OFS, Muuto, HAY, Geiger, and Aceray, balancing sophisticated aesthetics with flexibility, comfort, and long-term performance. Every product was selected to complement the architectural vision while supporting the many ways employees work throughout the day.

The completed workplace is more than an office renovation—it's a reflection of Gallagher's evolution. By blending hospitality, wellness, local artistry, and thoughtfully designed workspaces, the firm has created an environment that welcomes employees, impresses clients, and reinforces the culture that has defined Gallagher for more than six decades.
