Employee Ownership in Action
Employee Ownership Is More Than a Benefit. It's Our Difference.
Employee Ownership Is More Than a Benefit. It's Our Difference.
Every company has a story. The MOI story is written by more than 300 employee owners who share a common purpose: creating spaces that make a lasting impact—for our clients, our communities, and one another.
At MOI, employee ownership isn't simply part of our business model. It's part of our culture. It's reflected in the way we approach every project, every partnership, and every relationship we build. While we proudly celebrate Employee Ownership Month each year, ownership is something we experience every day.
Ownership Creates Better Partnerships
The best workplaces don't happen because of furniture alone. They happen when people come together around a shared vision.
That's why our approach has always been about more than delivering products. We work alongside our clients, architects, designers, and industry partners to solve challenges, uncover opportunities, and create environments where people can do their best work.
Employee ownership strengthens those relationships.
When every member of our team has a personal stake in our collective success, every decision carries greater purpose. We ask more questions. We think further ahead. We solve problems before they become obstacles. We celebrate our clients' successes as if they were our own—because, in many ways, they are.
Many of our client relationships span decades. Those partnerships have been built on trust, consistency, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful experiences together.
Ownership Inspires Accountability
Being employee-owned means every individual has the opportunity to make a difference.
Whether someone is meeting with a client, managing a project, coordinating an installation, supporting operations, or welcoming guests into one of our showrooms, every interaction contributes to something bigger than ourselves.
Ownership encourages collaboration over silos, long-term thinking over short-term gains, and shared success over individual achievement.
It's a culture where ideas are welcomed, accountability is embraced, and everyone understands that their work has an impact far beyond their own role.
Ownership Extends Beyond Our Walls
Ownership also shapes how we show up in our communities.
Through volunteer service, charitable partnerships, Connection Committee initiatives, sustainability efforts, and our Making Our Impact commitment, our employee owners invest their time, talents, and resources into creating positive change.
Across our locations, you'll find teams organizing volunteer projects, supporting local nonprofits, hosting educational events, mentoring future designers, strengthening industry partnerships, and creating opportunities for colleagues to connect and grow together.
Because ownership isn't limited to the workplace. It's reflected in the communities where we live and work.
Celebrating the People Behind the Impact
Throughout the year, our teams gather to celebrate milestones, recognize achievements, strengthen relationships, and invest in one another.
Employee Ownership Celebration Day is one of those moments.
Across every MOI location, employee owners come together to reflect on the partnerships we've built, the projects we've completed, the communities we've supported, and the people who make it all possible.
Later this fall, more than 300 employee owners from across the company will gather in Baltimore for our annual Owners Celebration—a chance to recognize what we've accomplished together and look ahead to the future we're continuing to build.
These celebrations aren't simply traditions.
They're reminders that every success belongs to all of us.
More Than Owners
When clients choose MOI, they're partnering with a team of employee owners who care deeply about the outcome of every project, every relationship, and every experience.
Ownership isn't just how our company is structured. It's how we think. It's how we collaborate. It's how we serve.
And it's one of the reasons we're able to make an impact that extends far beyond the spaces we create.
Because at MOI, ownership isn't something we celebrate one day a year.
It's something our clients experience every day.
