MOI Announces New Washington, DC Office Space

MOI is thrilled to announce its new office space at 1901 L Street, NW, right in the heart of Washington, DC’s bustling Central Business District. Set to open on August 1st, our new office spans 12,911 square feet on the building’s second floor.

“The decision to establish this new office was driven by an extensive workplace strategy exercise, which involved gathering feedback from our DC-based employees to identify key priorities. Through this process, we discovered the significance of a central location, diverse collaborative spaces, intuitive technology, an event space to showcase our expertise, and dedicated areas for focused work with privacy. These priorities have influenced the design of our showroom, resulting in a curated, contemporary, and effortless environment that aims to enhance the overall MOI experience. The continuous feedback and insights from our team have fostered greater engagement, encouraging many of our members to choose the office as their preferred work setting” said MOI President Dave Corsones.

This new space is an evolutionary environment where MOI’s employees, partners, and clients can work, live, and stay. Grounded in flexibility, the new space at 1901 L combines the art and science of how elements of space work together to create a functional, thriving environment: an ecosystem.  Additionally, MOI’s footprint provides an open concept with a unique view overlooking the lobby through a spectacular art feature. The floor-to-ceiling glass walls and unique four-foot bay projections of 1901 L Street provide views up and down 19th and L Streets. With a location convenient to public transportation, parking, and community amenities, 1901 L is WELL and LEED Certified and features a remarkable rooftop and an on-site fitness facility.

The Savills team led by Nicole Miller represented MOI in the office space search process as well as the ultimate lease negotiations. “The unique second-floor space at the prominent corner of 19 and L Street, NW offers a working environment conducive to MOI’s business model and offers highly collaborative working spaces while the building bolsters one of the premiere rooftop terraces in the city which includes meeting, conference, and indoor/outdoor entertainment space, “said Miller.

The new space will embrace varying styles of work utilizing flexible furniture solutions, providing a workspace that adapts to the needs of MOI’s team and visitors with intentional blends of many product solutions to enhance decision-making for our clients, architects, and designers.

“We look forward to hosting events, sparking ideas, and sharing this facility with a wider audience. I can’t wait to see more activity, more engagement and to feel the energy of being together in our new home. The future is bright, and our culture is ready to embrace it” said Melanie Robins, A+D Director for the MOI DC market.

The landscape of work has fundamentally changed and now demands greater flexibility. Recognizing that flexibility resonates differently among our internal and external stakeholders, this new space reflects a multifaceted adaptive approach to choice, comfort, and connectivity. It is equipped to host a range of events, meetings, seminars, and community gatherings. In addition to an impressive entertaining area, a product pop-up area, and a comprehensive sample library, the space incorporates intuitive technology throughout, offering ample power and connectivity options. We also have integrated features that support mental wellness, such as biophilia, ergonomic furniture, and a variety of settings for collaboration and private moments.

MOI’s new Washington, DC space represents a significant milestone in our journey. We are eager to begin this exciting chapter, fostering innovation, creativity, and meaningful connections within this dynamic and purpose-built environment. “In today’s climate, everyone is trying to build spaces that will help drive our folks back to the office, and I believe MOI has checked all the right boxes here to do just that…it’s a beautifully designed space that their people will be proud to call home. It’s an office where their employees have the tools needed to get work done effectively…it’s a place built to enhance culture, collaboration, and people development. We were proud to have partnered on such a forward-looking space with one of the premier furniture providers in our industry,” said Jeremiah Watts, Principal, D|Watts.

David Sidell, VP of Project Management for Cresa Project Management added, “The Cresa team has really enjoyed being a strategic partner in bringing MOI’S new workplace vision to reality. Our team coordinated all of the project partners and synthesized priorities to deliver this fantastic new space. We are very excited for MOI and know their team and clients will love the new space and all it offers.” OTJ, another project partner, was engaged by MOI before the search for buildings began. “By leading an early and incisive workplace strategy exercise, we were able to gain a unique understanding of MOI’s cultural and organizational goals. This, in turn, made for the development of more informed test fits and more confident decision-making in selecting 1901 L as MOI’s future home. 1901 L has proven to be the ideal location to support MOI’s mission of rebuilding the community of work,” added Holly Martin, Senior Principal for OTJ.

This revolutionary space would not be possible without the relationships and support of our project partners. Embracing our mission of partnership, MOI strategically selected the core project team including OTJ Architects, CRESA, and D|Watts. The CRESA team assisted MOI with construction management and OTJ provided architectural services. Savills assisted MOI in the building selection process and office lease negotiations. Our additional partners include GHT Limited, Alliance Lighting, NTI, People Signs, and PLNTR
