MOI Partnerships Win Two IIDA Design Awards

MOI partnered with Hickok Cole & LEO A DALY on the design of two projects that received awards at IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s 25th Annual Premiere Design Awards.

MOI’s Multi-Family Housing team was engaged early in the development process by Hickok Cole and Trammel Crow Residential as furniture consultants, service partners, and procurement agents which helped build a new multi-family community in DC’s burgeoning Union Market district worthy of design recognition.

With a nod to the neighborhood’s vibrant history as a century-old market hub for warehousing, trading, and shopping, The Batley’s design was infused with a farm-to-market style, utilizing raw materials in modern ways to yield amenities appropriate for today’s urban living.

To assist with the leasing effort in this new, expansive community, MOI was tapped to outfit the building’s two model units with the Hickok Cole team. From design collaboration, procurement, and installation, MOI provided a turn-key service to ensure both apartments were consistent with the owner’s targeted demographic and that they blended the touches of lifestyle and home that appealed to future residents.

MOI has partnered with LEO A DALY on multiple designs for Capital One Cafés. The most recent addition to this portfolio is located in Georgetown at the legendary Nathan’s restaurant at the corner of Wisconsin and M Streets.

The new Capital One Café serves as a coffee shop, co-working space, and financial services location. Choosing a historic building in the nation’s capital, Capital One partnered with MOI and LEO A DALY to create a unique space that would invite customers of all types to connect.

To complement the aesthetic of the building, our team selected a variety of furniture solutions that combine comfort, flexibility, and modern design. MOI specified solutions from over 20 manufacturers to meet the needs of Capital One’s current and potential customers, including bar seating, huddle/conference tables, private nooks, lounge areas, and stadium seating. This one-of-a-kind space draws visitors in and encourages them to connect in a casual setting unlike any other.
