Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library underwent a large-scale renovation of the six-floor building. Said to be the crown jewel of the DC Public Library system, stakeholders sought to create a more welcoming space for all ages and backgrounds.

As part of the MLK Jr. Memorial Library renovation strategy, MOI partnered with the architect, general contractor, and key stakeholders to design a space that expressed creativity and diversity throughout. The building features recording studios, kids reading room, teens reading room, and a large-scale auditorium. The library also houses many conference rooms for community engagement and study spaces. MOI was proud to work on such a significant project to the local community where people can gather and celebrate continued learning.
