On Tuesday, August 2nd, MOI’s Washington, DC office hosted female industry leaders at an event on women and negotiating. The night featured an intimate discussion on how a little negotiating confidence can improve all aspects of a woman’s life.
The evening celebrated Jessica Miller’s new book on A Woman’s Guide to Successful Negotiating: How to Convince, Collaborate and Create Your Way to Agreement.
The discussion and Q&A session focused on the three keys to successful negotiation by examining the critical elements of confidence, preparation and the willingness to walk away from the wrong opportunity. The discussion also covered the ten most common mistakes that women make in negotiating. It also included details on how to create an agreement that works for all parties at the table.

Jessica Miller joined Cushman & Wakefield’s McLean, Virginia office as a Director in 2008 after eight years as a Commercial Real Estate Advisor with Grubb & Ellis Company. She specializes in corporate tenant representation services throughout the Washington, DC region. Jessica holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University and is a graduate of Virginia Tech’s Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
