MOI and Clifton Gunderson LLP hosted a breakfast seminar on Bonus Depreciation & Section 179. During this session, attendees learned how to take advantage of the
Section 179D Energy Efficient Building tax deduction and bonus depreciation to reduce their costs by investing in new materials, products and systems!
Section 179D allows commercial property owners to reduce energy consumption and costs by making energy efficient investments.
Bonus Depreciation allows for a special depreciation allowance equal to 50% or 100% of the depreciable basis of qualified property.
Section 179 deduction maximums will dramatically decrease in 2012 and 100% bonus depreciation can only be taken for property acquired and placed in service before January 1, 2012.
